Virtually Video Content, But Not Quite

Written by Nick Jones | Jul 18, 2023 4:48:08 PM

For the first time this week's test really tested the limits of my technical powers. Most AI apps and tools are very intuitive and self-explanatory.  Perhaps due to the complexity of creating video content from nothing more than a written prompt, neuralframes.com is something of an exception to the rule. I also suspect the many, many different prompt to video apps are similar.

The initial intent was to develop a video about how to best utilize AI in Marketing.  To get me started I turned to INKForAll.com, a content development AI assistant.  Bear with me as I go through three or four AI steps to land this one. First, I asked INKForAll to write me a short blog post on using AI in Marketing. I gave it a fairly simple prompt, and included a short search optimized blurb on my company at the end:

AI and Marketing

How will AI impact my business? What should I be doing now? These are questions that leaders at small to midsized advertising and marketing agencies are asking themselves as technology continues to advance at a rapid pace. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries across the board, and the advertising and marketing world is no exception. But rather than fear this change, it's important for leaders to embrace it and understand how it can benefit their business.

AI has the potential to revolutionize the way advertising and marketing agencies operate. It can automate repetitive tasks, analyze vast amounts of data, and provide valuable insights that can inform strategic and creative decisions. By leveraging AI tools, agencies can streamline their processes, improve efficiency, and deliver

what

This could involve piloting AI-powered tools in specific projects or campaigns to test their effectiveness. By taking a proactive approach to experimentation, leaders can gain valuable insights into how AI can enhance their strategic and creative processes.

Finally, it's important to remember that AI is not meant to replace human creativity and intuition, but rather to augment it. While AI can analyze data and identify patterns, it's up to humans to interpret those insights and apply them in meaningful ways. Leaders should view AI as a tool that can inform their decision-making, but not dictate it.

In conclusion, AI is set to have a significant impact on the advertising and marketing industry. Leaders at small to midsized agencies should be proactive in understanding and embracing this change. By contacting experts in the field, experimenting with AI tools, and using them as an input to the strategic and creative process, agencies can position themselves for success in the AI-driven future. So, don't wait - take the first step and contact us today to start your journey towards harnessing the power of AI in your business.

Note the slight glitch in the middle ("what"), which is a first for me using a chat AI tool. I then fed this blog back into IFA requesting a video script:

[0:00] "Are you ready to revolutionize your marketing strategies?"

[0:05] "Introducing OMNI Marketing Solutions!"

[0:[0:12] "Imagine having the power of Artificial Intelligence at your fingertips."

[0:[0:21] "Don't just adapt to change, embrace it!"

[0:25] "Contact us today to start your journey towards harnessing the power of AI in your business."

[0:29] "Together, let's create marketing solutions that elevate your brand and drive unprecedented results."

[0:34] "OMNI Marketing Solutions: Empowering businesses with the future of marketing."

Following me so far? Here's where it starts to get tricky. There are many video content AI tools billed as "word prompt to video".  I tried NeuralFrames, and dropped in my script as the prompt. Perhaps that was unhelpful. I also added prompt language suggesting this be narrated by an older, charismatic man (don't know where I was going with that...).  The tool offered me some definitely older men:

So I reframed it as "middle-aged" and got:

I could work with that.  But this is where things start to go off the rails a bit.  I'd specified some camera moves, and given the system a script.  I even gave it music, using the piece I developed a while back when blogging about the Beatoven.ai tool. What was unclear to me is how to add the script as either voice-over or supers, and the system essentially ignored it.  What's more, the resulting video was an odd gradual transition from one charismatic chap to another taking about 8 seconds (and the ability to then reverse it to have 16 seconds of video). What exactly I'm supposed to do with this morphing video, I'm not sure.

If you'd like to see the somewhat odd resulting video, be my guest. I may try to add supers using a different AI in a future blog post.
